I left my childhood religion to discover what I believe. This is what I believe about God, Faith and Entrepreneurship.
I’m sharing something that I’ve been afraid to share until now.
It is this…
I had a supernatural divine encounter in 2010. I was shocked by this
too. Believe me.
This divine experience helped me know that I am a
follower of Jesus and I am a non-denominational Christian.
And at the same time, I am very warm, welcoming and accepting of other people who may believe something different than what I believe.
I guess what I really want to say is that
I love you just the way you ARE my friend!
I spent most of my life keeping my beliefs about God and Jesus and my faith virtually separate from my consulting business (and in my lip gloss business when I had that). I was afraid of turning people off or sounding like a religious fanatic.
But a year and a half ago, I decided to share it all in the open. It felt so liberating just BEING ME and not worrying about what people might think!
Here’s my story…
There was a time when I didn’t feel as connected to God and Jesus
like I do now.
I was searching for my own truth and what I believed about God instead of what my mom and dad believe, what my pastor believes, what my friends believe, what my mentors believe and what my coach believes.
I also wondered what is God’s role in entrepreneurship and business.
When I was 3 years old, my mom converted to being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). They are sometimes called Mormons. I was raised in a Christian home and we went to the
LDS church every Sunday. They had some great foundational Christian values that helped build my faith at an early age. And I learned about Jesus, Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit. I’m grateful for that.
However, as I got older, I stopped going to the LDS church. I like the people. But there were few things that didn’t resonate with me any more.
As a matter of fact, I didn’t go to any Christian church for many years. I wasn’t sure what I believed or what my identity was.
Instead, I started reading spiritual books by Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle, Louise Hay, Iyanla Vanzant, Gary Zukav, Michael Bernard Beckwith, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Pema Chodran, and Sonia Choquette. I learned about living consciously. Practicing self awareness was such a good positive change in my life.
I also watched EVERY episode of Super Soul Sunday on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Yes, every episode. It’s still one of my favorite TV Shows. 125+ shows.
So what do I believe? Am I Christian? Am I new age or spiritual? No I’m not that. Then what the heck do I believe? Where do I belong?
For awhile, I would say, “I’m more spiritual than religious.” I just didn’t like the extreme religious dogma that created separation instead of connection with others.
Pretty soon, I met and married my husband Ilya. His ethnicity is Russian Jewish. But as a kid he said he never really attended a synagogue. Kinda like he had no religion.
Then in February 2010, I experienced some kind of supernatural divine encounter. I had a 45 minute conversation with God in my bedroom. I asked Him questions and he answered with complete clarity. I was humbled and blown away.
I’ve only shared this with a few people.
As you can imagine, I was a little freaked out by this encounter.
I actually went to a counselor to ask if I was losing my mind. I told her what happened, what I saw, and what God told me. The counselor said, I was totally normal and fine. But I just had a very special divine experience that not a lot of people have.
What a relief! I’m ok!
Three years later, I had a rock bottom moment that drew me closer to God again.
I was standing in my living room and I prayed this prayer,
“God, I give you my life and my gifts and talents. I want to do what YOU designed me to do. I want to go with your plan for my life. Just show me what it is and I’ll do it. Amen.”
It was a moment of truly deep surrender like never before. I felt like I was covered in a warm blanket of unconditional love and I felt peace wash over me like never before.
I was being transformed from the inside out. But I didn’t know it at the time.
Not long after that, I had a second supernatural divine encounter. I had a conversation with Jesus. I asked Him many question and he answered with full clarity. And that’s when I knew He is the son of God and that I am a non-denominational Christian.
After that, I started going to a non-denominational Christian church every Sunday. It feels right for me. Today, I have a close personal relationship with God and Jesus. I feel guided in all I do. I am so grateful and humbled.
Now I know who I am and WHO’S I am (as Oprah says)
———————————————————————————————————————
This is who I am and what I believe about God, Faith and Entrepreneurship.
I am a non-denominational Christian and I believe in practicing self-awareness.
I believe in putting God first in our life and in our business.
I believe our business is a “calling from God” to use our unique gifts, talents and skills to help other people solve their problems. The money is a by-product of how well we serve others. I spent many years in fear and “not enough-ness”. When I finally surrendered my business totally and let go of the money and surrendered (“God use me for your higher purpose”), that’s when my business began to grow. When our motives are pure and we take inspired action, God provides overflow! God wants us to prosper. The more we have the more we have to GIVE. And to much is given much is expected. Giving is why we have.
I also believe in making people feel welcome, included and accepted when they have a different religious belief or go to a different church than I do. Any extreme religious dogma that creates separation instead of building connection with others turns me off and I avoid it.
I believe in God (Heavenly Father), Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and he gave his life for me and all of us. I believe the Bible is the word of God and was divinely inspired by all the people who wrote the words- Old testament and new testament.
I am currently reading the Bible cover to cover. 1-2 chapters per day. I have an App on my phone so I listen and read scripture at the same time.
I like to feed my spirit daily so I feel connected to God and Jesus every daily. I get up early and spend time with God every morning.
This is my morning ritual….
I pray, meditate for 5 minutes, read the Bible, exercise and read a page in a Christian book with a positive message. If I want to read a spiritual book that has a positive message. I read that too. I enjoy watching video messages by Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers and Bishop TD Jakes.
I also listen to Christian contemporary music on Youtube
or K LOVE radio station.

Now it’s your turn.
What do you believe? Is it time to let others in to see more of the real you? Or maybe you already do this. If so, celebrate that.
The beauty of being more of who we are in our personal life and in public is we will magnetically attract like-minded people to us. But at the same time, the more we are expressing our true self, there may be people who move farther away from us.
That’s ok too. I hope everyone connects with people they enjoy being around.
It’s no surprise that my consulting business is a faith-based
coaching style. I talk about God and faith and scriptures with
my clients. And I accept them for who they are.
Don’t be afraid to share more of who you are.
That is how you’ll magnetically attract the people God
called you to serve, find your best friends and build
your tribe!
I love you just the way you are my friend.
Thank you for reading this. Tell us something about you? What do you believe? If there is something positive you’d like to share, please type it below in the comments.
Much love,
